At CK Cavaliers, we have a detailed Puppy Process that ensures transparency and family involvement from the very beginning.
1. complete application
The first step is filling out our online application.
This helps us understand your family, lifestyle, and expectations, ensuring that our puppies are matched with homes where they can thrive.
2. approval email
Once we have a confirmed breeding or pregnancy, you will be notified via email that your application has been approved and that it is time to book your phone interview.
Be sure to check your spam/junk and trash folders for an email from info@ckcavaliers.com - the invitation to book your phone interview is no longer valid after 72 hours due to fairness to move through our waitlist.
3. phone consultation
Ethical Breeding Equals Ethical Placement.
Once we have a confirmed breeding, pregnancy or birth, you will be notified by email that your application is approved. In our email, you'll receive a link (also available under our "Approved Families" tab) to choose a day and time for your consultation. This is our chance to get to know your family, answer your questions, and share more about our breeding program and your lifestyle. After the phone consultation, you will receive correspondence on acceptance into our breeding program.
4. deposit payment
After our phone consultation, to secure your place in our breeding program, a $500 deposit must be made within 24 hrs.
Once your deposit is made, you will receive correspondence containing our CK Cavaliers Welcome Guide, photos, videos, a link to our private puppy group on social media, and more important information about what to expect.

6. visiting your pup
We allow Mom to bond and become secure with her new litter of pups for a minimum of 3 weeks. While they have visitors during these weeks, the visitors are not strangers to Mom, so she does not feel threatened. However, after about 3 weeks, depending on Mom, we begin to welcome only our approved families to visit and play with the puppies.
As the puppies grow, families are welcome to visit as often as they like through scheduled visits. Each visit includes only approved visitors, in a private space with you, the puppies, and mom.
This is such an important part of our program; it allows you to bond with all the puppies so that, when it is time to choose "your" puppy, you can make your decision based on the connection you have formed.through the weeks.
7. the perfect match
Puppy Pick Weekend! This is one of the most anticipated events at CK Cavaliers! When the puppies are around 8 to 9 weeks old, we invite each family to officially match with a specific puppy.

We celebrate this occasion by adding personal and custom touches to create keepsake memories for your Puppy Match/Pick day.
8. health/vaccines/insurance
Kelcie administers each puppy's vaccines and provides vaccine-specific information, along with up-to-date health records, for you to take to your vet.
Before going home, all puppies have a physical exam completed by our licensed veterinarian to receive their health clearance.

Each puppy is sent home with a Health Guarantee and Pet Insurance.
9. going home!
At 11-12 weeks old, your puppy will be ready to go home and join your family.
When you pick up your puppy in West River, Maryland, you will receive all health and parent information, along with a custom puppy bag, so you will always remember your experience becoming a CK Cavaliers family member for life.
The waiting game begins! However, not for long! Canine gestation is short & sweet! Over the 63 days as we wait for puppies, I will send photos and videos of Mom during pregnancy, vet visits for X-rays, and, most importantly, active LIVE updates DURING delivery! Yes, that means you can see your puppy being born.

After delivery and in the weeks that follow, I send multiple pictures and videos to the litter's families so they can always stay up to date on the pups' growth.
faq
Do you ship puppies? No, we do not ship puppies or meet at an airport for puppy exchanging. Puppies must be picked up in West River, Maryland. No exceptions.
Do you accept deposits for future litters? Yes, we accept deposits for future litters. You will need to have an approved application, and phone consultation prior to placing your deposit for a future litter. However, placing a deposit confirms your future placement.
What if I want a specific color or gender? We try our best to match families with their gender preference, however, we do not honor coat color preferences.
